CHARITY WORK

From the very start, HotWoodFest has aimed to back a charity or cause. Starting in 2021, with the end of the pandemic, we decided to raise money for MIND UK, as well as a local cause in Coedpoeth which helped a close friend add permanent lighting to the Cenotaph. We raised a total of £2500, £2000 of which went to MIND UK. In 2022 we supported Blood Cancer UK and Parkinson's UK, and raised £1000. This year (2023) we are giving £1 from each ticket sale to Shelter Cymru and Stroke UK.

We have also held other events over the years including Boogie Bingo which raised money for Oxfam Ukraine Appeal and Bowl Cancer UK.

THIS YEAR We will be giving money to Hope House and The Make-A-Wish Foundation.

COMMUNITY

We at HotWoodFest aim to keep to our community roots. Although we had to move from Coedpoeth to Brymbo due to hitting capacity in the Golden Lion Coedpoeth, we still aim to not only stay in the Wrexham Area, but also keep local bands at the heart of our line-ups. Although we have had a few bands from outside the area, including Flint, Manchester and Birmingham,  the majority of acts will be from the Wrexham area.

As well as keeping bands local, we also use local companies for our staff t-shirts and our posters and banners.
